THE STORY:

The hard rock/metal music era is about to be electrified with the emergence of the newest four-member band, GRUMPY*. Consisting of Drummer Buzz Klavans, Lead Vocalist/Rhythm Guitarist Paul "The Reverend P" Nelson, Lead Guitarist/Vocals "Broadway Steve" Harvey, and Bill "Roach" Pajack on Bass, GRUMPY*'s style is already being compared to Metallica, Pantera and GODSMACK.

The members of GRUMPY* have been performing together for several years in their hometown of Orlando, Florida. While perfecting their craft, they have won numerous regional awards including, "Best Hard Edged Band," "Monster Band of The Year" and "Best Metal Band" by the Orlando Music Awards, WTKS Real Radio 104.1 and Orlando's People Music awards respectively. They've created a solid fan base and gained plenty of respect in the music industry, which has lead to national exposure and the band being promoted by SpinRecords.com, an Internet record label.

Their independently released singles, "The Way" and "I'm A Monster" have received critical acclaim and high rotation. "The Way" reached No. 3 on Billboard Talent-Net Radio.com and No. 10 on the MP3.com site. Respected Orlando music critic, Mark Padgett stated, "The Way' is a kick in the asterisk… Sure to please Headbangers and Nu-metal radio fans alike." The hype surrounding their independently released singles led to GRUMPY* co-writing "Rage," the theme song for Orlando's Rage XFL football franchise and to starring in a Tropical Ford commercial.

In late 2001, they caught the attention of super-producer and Titanium Records label owner Veit Renn (N'Sync, Backstreet Boys). Renn states, "GRUMPY* is definitely a hungry band with a lot of talent and a pleasure to work with." Chappell Entertainment Corporation, a management company with an international reputation (James Brown's Band, Maxamillion, Michael Winslow, James Hong, Bubba Smith and Leslie Easterbrook) was brought in as exclusive management for GRUMPY*. Brian Eickhoff, vice-president at Chappell Entertainment adds, "Their stage presence and writing abilities bring GRUMPY* to the forefront of the many bands we have worked with (Van Halen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special and Heart). So much so, that Grumpy* now opens for some of the hottest bands in this genre, GODSMACK, Three Doors Down and SevenDust."

GRUMPY*'s debut album is scheduled for late spring of 2003. The raw flavor featured in GRUMPY*'s live show will be the cornerstone to their soon to be released CD. Look for GRUMPY* to take their place among the most exciting new talents to hit the stage!
