Chili was obsessed with stand up comedy by the time he reached the fifth grade. Watching comic geniuses such as George Carlin, Allen King, Red Skelton, Steve Martin, Robert Klein, Richard Pryor and more on the Ed Sullivan Show, Merv Griffin, and the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson fueled Chili’s passion to write and perform his own brand of comedy.
Caught up in the 80’s comedy explosion Chili was able to live his dreams performing his stand up act nationally at comedy clubs, concert halls, colleges and even Atlantic City casinos. During that time he also got a chance to be the first act in concerts for big music names such as ‘Count Basie and his Orchestra’, George Clinton and the P Funk All Stars, Ray Charles and even Todd Rungren.
In over 20 years of headlining a variety of venues he has made a real star list of friends. Names such as Ellen Degeneres, Drew Carey, Sinbad, Steve Harvey, Ron White, George Lopez and many more have shared the bill with him and…most OPENED for Chili~
If this wasn’t enough success Chili’s dream of becoming an accomplished humor writer was realized in the 90’s when his joke writing ability was discovered by Jay Leno and so was offered a staff writer’s job at NBC studios in Burbank, California to write for the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno”…where he remained for several years.
Currently he still maintains an independent contract with Jay Leno’s own entertainment company ‘Big Dog Productions’ and the Tonight Show as a satellite writer. He is also involved with being a comedy consultant for the newest hit summer comedy series ‘Mabe in America’ for Viacom’sCMT network.
Despite his success in comedy writing Chili continues to pursue his passion of performing his own live stand up comedy act every chance he gets.
